3 On the 15th day of the first month, they left Rameses. That morning after Passover, the Israelites marched out of Egypt with their arms raised in victory. All the people of Egypt saw them. 4 The Egyptians were burying all the people the Lord killed. They were burying all their firstborn sons. The Lord had shown his judgment against the gods[a] of Egypt.
5 The Israelites left Rameses and traveled to Succoth.

3 The Israelites set out(A) from Rameses(B) on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover.(C) They marched out defiantly(D) in full view of all the Egyptians, 4 who were burying all their firstborn,(E) whom the Lord had struck down among them; for the Lord had brought judgment(F) on their gods.(G)
5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Sukkoth.(H)
