¹³ By night I went out through the Valley Gate^(A) toward the Jackal^[a] Well and the Dung Gate,^(B) examining the walls^(C) of Jerusalem, which had been broken down, and its gates, which had been destroyed by fire.

¹⁵ so I went up the valley by night, examining the wall. Finally, I turned back and reentered through the Valley Gate.

¹³ The Valley Gate^(A) was repaired by Hanun and the residents of Zanoah.^(B) They rebuilt it and put its doors with their bolts and bars in place. They also repaired a thousand cubits^[a] of the wall as far as the Dung Gate.^(C)
