12 And when he[a] heard it,[b] he said, “Those who are healthy do not have need of a physician, but those who are sick.[c] 13 But go and[d] learn what it means, “I want mercy and not sacrifice.”[e] For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

14 Then the disciples of John[f] approached him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?”
