Ang Pulong Sa Dios
Giayo ni Jesus ang Bata nga Gigamhan sa Daotan nga Espiritu
(Mat. 17:14-21; Luc. 9:37-43)
14 Sa pagbalik nila ni Jesus didto sa iyang mga tinun-an nga nabilin, nakita nila nga daghan ang mga tawo nga naglibot kanila. May pipila ka mga magtutudlo sa Kasugoan nga nakiglalis sa mga tinun-an ni Jesus. 15 Pagkakita sa mga tawo kang Jesus natingala gayod sila, busa nanagan sila padulong kaniya aron abi-abihon siya. 16 Nangutana si Jesus kanila, “Unsa may inyong gilalisan?” 17 Mitubag ang usa sa mga tawo didto, “Magtutudlo, gidala ko dinhi kanimo ang akong anak nga lalaki kay gigamhan siya sa daotang espiritu ug dili na siya makasulti. 18 Kon atakihon siya sa daotang espiritu matumba siya sa yuta, mobula ang iyang baba, ug mokagot ang iyang mga ngipon, pagkahuman motoskig siya. Gihangyo ko ang imong mga tinun-an nga hinginlan nila ang daotang espiritu apan dili sila makahimo.” 19 Miingon si Jesus, “Kamo nga mga tawo niining panahona wala gayoy pagtuo. Hangtod kanus-a pa ba ang akong pagpailob kaninyo? Dad-a ninyo dinhi kanako ang bata.” 20 Busa gidala nila ang bata didto kaniya. Pagkakita sa daotang espiritu kang Jesus, gipakurog niya ang bata ug natumba kini ug nagligid-ligid sa yuta nga nagabula ang baba. 21 Gipangutana ni Jesus ang amahan sa bata, “Kanus-a pa ba siya naingon niini?” Mitubag ang amahan, “Sukad sa gamay pa siya. 22 Kanunay siyang iitsa sa kalayo o sa tubig sa daotang espiritu aron siya mamatay. Apan kon may mahimo ka, kaloy-i ug tabangi intawon kami!” 23 Miingon si Jesus kaniya, “Nganong miingon ka nga kon may mahimo ako? Ang tanan mahimo ko sa tawo nga motuo kanako.” 24 Ug mitubag dayon ang amahan sa bata, “Nagatuo ako, apan kulang pa. Dugangi ang akong pagtuo.”
25 Pagkakita ni Jesus nga nanugok na ang mga tawo padulong kanila, miingon siya sa daotan nga espiritu, “Ikaw nga espiritu nga maoy nagpaamang ug nagpabungol sa bata, mandoan ko ikaw sa paggawas ug ayaw na gayod pagbalik kaniya!” 26 Misinggit ang daotan nga espiritu ug gipakurog niya pag-ayo ang bata ug unya migawas siya. Daw patay na ang bata, busa miingon ang kadaghanan, “Patay na siya!” 27 Apan gigunitan ni Jesus ang kamot sa bata ug gipabangon, ug mitindog kini.

Jesus Heals a Boy Possessed by an Impure Spirit(A)
14 When they came to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them. 15 As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.
16 “What are you arguing with them about?” he asked.
17 A man in the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. 18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.”
19 “You unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.”
20 So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.(B)
21 Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?”
“From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”
23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”(C)
24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene,(D) he rebuked the impure spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”
26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He’s dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.
