⁹ And He was asking him, “What is your name?” And he *said to Him, “My name is ^(A)Legion; for we are many.”

²⁶ Then it goes and takes along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”

⁴ For in the case of those who have once been ^(A)enlightened and have tasted of ^(B)the heavenly gift and have been made ^(C)partakers of the Holy Spirit, ⁵ and ^(D)have tasted the good ^(E)word of God and the powers of ^(F)the age to come, ⁶ and then have fallen away, it is ^(G)impossible to renew them again to repentance, ^[a](H)since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. ⁷ For ground that drinks the rain which often ^[b]falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those ^(I)for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God; ⁸ but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and ^(J)close ^[c]to being cursed, and ^[d]it ends up being burned.

²⁰ For if, after they have ^(A)escaped the defilements of the world by ^(B)the knowledge of the ^(C)Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again ^(D)entangled in them and are overcome, ^(E)the last state has become worse for them than the first.
