¹⁴ The visions of your prophets
    were false^(A) and worthless;
they did not expose your sin
    to ward off your captivity.^(B)
The prophecies they gave you
    were false and misleading.^(C)

¹³ But it happened because of the sins of her prophets
    and the iniquities of her priests,^(A)
who shed within her
    the blood^(B) of the righteous.

²⁹ Despite false visions concerning you
    and lying divinations^(A) about you,
it will be laid on the necks
    of the wicked who are to be slain,
whose day has come,
    whose time of punishment has reached its climax.^(B)
