New International Version

²¹I will no longer drive out^(A) before them any of the nations Joshua left when he died.

²¹I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:

²²In order to test Israel, whether or not they would take care to walk in the way of the Lord as their ancestors did,^(A)

²²I will use them to test^(A) Israel and see whether they will keep the way of the Lord and walk in it as their ancestors did.”

²²That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the Lord to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
