8 And he struck them hip and thigh—a great slaughter. Then he went down and stayed in a cleft of the crag of Etam.
9 The Philistines went up and encamped in Judah, deploying themselves against Lehi.(A) 10 When the men of Judah asked, “Why have you come up against us?” they answered, “To take Samson prisoner; to do to him as he has done to us.”

New International Version
8 He attacked them viciously and slaughtered many of them. Then he went down and stayed in a cave in the rock(A) of Etam.(B)
9 The Philistines went up and camped in Judah, spreading out near Lehi.(C) 10 The people of Judah asked, “Why have you come to fight us?”
“We have come to take Samson prisoner,” they answered, “to do to him as he did to us.”
