8 So he smote them [a]hip and thigh with a mighty plague: then he went and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam.
9 ¶ Then the Philistines came up, and pitched in Judah, and [b]were spread abroad in Lehi.
10 And the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up unto us? And they answered, To [c]bind Samson are we come up, and to do to him as he hath done to us.

New International Version
8 He attacked them viciously and slaughtered many of them. Then he went down and stayed in a cave in the rock(A) of Etam.(B)
9 The Philistines went up and camped in Judah, spreading out near Lehi.(C) 10 The people of Judah asked, “Why have you come to fight us?”
“We have come to take Samson prisoner,” they answered, “to do to him as he did to us.”
