18 And Yahweh drove out all the people before us, the Amorites[a] who live[b] in the land. We will serve Yahweh, for he is our God.”
19 But Joshua said to the people, “You cannot serve Yahweh, for he is a holy and jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions or your sins. 20 If you forsake Yahweh and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster to you; he will destroy you after he has done good to you.”

18 And the Lord drove out(A) before us all the nations,(B) including the Amorites, who lived in the land.(C) We too will serve the Lord, because he is our God.(D)”
19 Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the Lord. He is a holy God;(E) he is a jealous God.(F) He will not forgive(G) your rebellion(H) and your sins. 20 If you forsake the Lord(I) and serve foreign gods, he will turn(J) and bring disaster(K) on you and make an end of you,(L) after he has been good to you.”
