37 And again another Scripture says, “(A)They shall look on Him whom they pierced.”

38 (B)After these things Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but a (C)secret one for (D)fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate granted permission. So he came and took away His body. 39 (E)Nicodemus, who had first come to Him by night, also came, (F)bringing a [a]mixture of (G)myrrh and aloes, about a (H)hundred [b]pounds weight.

38 Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders.(C) With Pilate’s permission, he came and took the body away. 39 He was accompanied by Nicodemus,(D) the man who earlier had visited Jesus at night. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds.[b]
