¹² so he lies down and does not rise;^(A)
    till the heavens are no more,^(B) people will not awake
    or be roused from their sleep.^(C)

¹³ “If only you would hide me in the grave^(D)
    and conceal me till your anger has passed!^(E)
If only you would set me a time
    and then remember^(F) me!^(G)
14 If someone dies, will they live again?
    All the days of my hard service^(H)
    I will wait for my renewal^[a](I) to come.
¹⁵ You will call and I will answer you;^(J)
    you will long for the creature your hands have made.^(K)

²⁵ I know that my redeemer^[a](A) lives,^(B)
    and that in the end he will stand on the earth.^[b]
26 And after my skin has been destroyed,
    yet^[c] in^[d] my flesh I will see God;^(C)
27 I myself will see him
    with my own eyes^(D)—I, and not another.
    How my heart yearns^(E) within me!

⁹ Therefore my heart is glad^(A) and my tongue rejoices;
    my body also will rest secure,^(B)

¹⁰ because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,^(A)
    nor will you let your faithful^[a] one^(B) see decay.^(C)

¹⁵ As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face;
    when I awake,^(A) I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.^(B)
