Satan Allowed to Test Job
6 Now there was a day when (A)the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and (B)Satan[a] also came among them. 7 The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From (C)going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” 8 And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you (D)considered my (E)servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, (F)a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?”

6 One day the angels[a](A) came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan[b](B) also came with them.(C) 7 The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”(D)
8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job?(E) There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God(F) and shuns evil.”(G)
