6 (A)Flee from the midst of Babylon,
And each of you save his life!
Do not (B)perish in her [a]punishment,
For this is the (C)Lord’s time of vengeance;
He is going to (D)repay to her what she deserves.
7 Babylon has been a golden (E)cup in the hand of the Lord,
Intoxicating all the earth.
The (F)nations have drunk of her wine;
Therefore the nations are (G)going insane.
8 Suddenly (H)Babylon has fallen and been broken;
(I)Wail over her!
(J)Bring [b]balm for her pain;
Perhaps she may be healed.

Run for your lives!
Do not be destroyed because of her sins.(B)
It is time(C) for the Lord’s vengeance;(D)
he will repay(E) her what she deserves.
7 Babylon was a gold cup(F) in the Lord’s hand;
she made the whole earth drunk.
The nations drank her wine;
therefore they have now gone mad.
8 Babylon will suddenly fall(G) and be broken.
Wail over her!
Get balm(H) for her pain;
perhaps she can be healed.
