The canals will stink;(A)
    the streams of Egypt will dwindle and dry up.(B)
The reeds(C) and rushes will wither,(D)
    also the plants(E) along the Nile,
    at the mouth of the river.
Every sown field(F) along the Nile
    will become parched, will blow away and be no more.(G)
The fishermen(H) will groan and lament,
    all who cast hooks(I) into the Nile;
those who throw nets on the water
    will pine away.

    set fire to Zoan(B)
    and inflict punishment on Thebes.(C)
15 I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium,
    the stronghold of Egypt,
    and wipe out the hordes of Thebes.
16 I will set fire(D) to Egypt;
    Pelusium will writhe in agony.
Thebes will be taken by storm;
    Memphis(E) will be in constant distress.
