Isaiah 44:19-21

¹⁹No one considers, nor is there knowledge or discernment to say, “Half of it I burned in the fire; I also baked bread on its coals; I roasted meat and have eaten. And shall I make the rest of it an ^(A)abomination? Shall I fall down before a block of wood?” ²⁰^(B)He feeds on ^(C)ashes; a deluded heart has led him astray, and he cannot deliver himself or say, “Is there not ^(D)a lie in my right hand?”

The Lord Redeems Israel

²¹Remember these things, O Jacob,
and Israel, for you are ^(E)my servant;
I formed you; you are my servant;
^(F)O Israel, you will not be forgotten by me.

¹⁹No one stops to think,
    no one has the knowledge or understanding^(A) to say,
“Half of it I used for fuel;^(B)
    I even baked bread over its coals,
    I roasted meat and I ate.
Shall I make a detestable^(C) thing from what is left?
    Shall I bow down to a block of wood?”^(D)
²⁰Such a person feeds on ashes;^(E) a deluded^(F) heart misleads him;
    he cannot save himself, or say,
    “Is not this thing in my right hand a lie?^(G)”
