¹⁰ The edict was written^[a] with the king’s authority and sealed with his ring, and they sent out the letters by couriers.^(A)

⁸ Now, O king, establish the interdict and sign the document, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and the Persians, which cannot be revoked.”^(A)

¹⁹ If, therefore, it pleases the king, let him issue a royal decree, inscribed in accordance with the laws of the Medes and Persians so that it may not be altered, that the queen may no longer come into his presence, and let the king give her royal rank to a woman better than she.^(A)
