Genesis 19:24-28
New International Version
24 Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur(A) on Sodom and Gomorrah(B)—from the Lord out of the heavens.(C) 25 Thus he overthrew those cities(D) and the entire plain,(E) destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land.(F) 26 But Lot’s wife looked back,(G) and she became a pillar of salt.(H)
27 Early the next morning Abraham got up and returned to the place where he had stood before the Lord.(I) 28 He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace.(J)

23 The whole land will be a burning waste(A) of salt(B) and sulfur—nothing planted, nothing sprouting, no vegetation growing on it. It will be like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah,(C) Admah and Zeboyim, which the Lord overthrew in fierce anger.(D)
