17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat[a] from it you shall surely die.”[b]

18 Then[c] Yahweh God said, “it is not good that the man[d] is alone. I will make for him a helper as his counterpart.”[e] 19 And out of the ground Yahweh God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky,[f] and he brought each to the man[g] to see what he would call it.
