14 And Moses went down from the mountain to the people, and he consecrated the people, and they washed their clothes. 15 And he said to the people, “Be ready for the third day.[a] Do not go near to a woman.”
16 And[b] on the third day, when it was morning, there was thunder and lightning, and a heavy cloud over the mountain and a very loud ram’s horn sound, and all the people who were in the camp trembled.

New International Version
14 After Moses had gone down the mountain to the people, he consecrated them, and they washed their clothes.(A) 15 Then he said to the people, “Prepare yourselves for the third day. Abstain(B) from sexual relations.”
16 On the morning of the third day there was thunder(C) and lightning, with a thick cloud(D) over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast.(E) Everyone in the camp trembled.(F)
