3 among whom we all once lived in (A)the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[a] and the mind, and (B)were by nature (C)children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.[b] 4 But[c] God, being (D)rich in mercy, (E)because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even (F)when we were dead in our trespasses, (G)made us alive together with Christ—(H)by grace you have been saved—

3 All of us also lived among them at one time,(A) gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a](B) and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us,(C) God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions(D)—it is by grace you have been saved.(E)
