12 (A)It is not up in the sky. You do not have to ask, ‘Who will go up and bring it down for us, so that we can hear it and obey it?’ 13 Nor is it on the other side of the ocean. You do not have to ask, ‘Who will go across the ocean and bring it to us, so that we may hear it and obey it?’ 14 No, it is here with you. You know it and can quote it, so now obey it.

12 It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven(A) to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?”(B) 13 Nor is it beyond the sea,(C) so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?”(D) 14 No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.(E)
