^26 (A)Your dead bodies will ^[a]serve as food for all birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth, and there will be no one to frighten them away.

⁴⁴ The Philistine also said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh ^(A)to the birds of the sky and the ^[a]wild animals.”

⁴⁶ This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I will strike you and remove your head from you. Then I will give the ^(A)dead bodies of the army of the Philistines this day to the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the earth, ^(B)so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,
