14 “You shall not (A)oppress a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the sojourners who are in your land within your towns. 15 (B)You shall give him his wages on the same day, before the sun sets (for he is poor and counts on it), (C)lest he cry against you to the Lord, and you be guilty of sin.
16 (D)“Fathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. Each one shall be put to death for his own sin.

14 Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is a fellow Israelite or a foreigner residing in one of your towns.(A) 15 Pay them their wages each day before sunset, because they are poor(B) and are counting on it.(C) Otherwise they may cry to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty of sin.(D)
16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.(E)
