¹⁴ Then he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, ^(A)and all the Edomites became David's servants. And the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went.

⁹ So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and ^(A)the king of Edom. And when they had made a circuitous march of seven days, there was no water for the army or for the animals that followed them.

²⁰ In his days Edom revolted from the rule of Judah and set up ^(A)a king of their own.
