¹² The tree of life shall give them fragrant perfume, and they shall neither toil nor become weary.^(A)

The Temporary Messianic Kingdom

²⁶ “For indeed the time will come when the signs that I have foretold to you will come to pass, that the city that now is not seen shall appear^[a] and the land that now is hidden shall be disclosed.^(A)

²⁷ When I looked up, the woman was no longer visible to me, but a city was being built,^[a] and a place of huge foundations showed itself. I was afraid and cried with a loud voice and said,^(A)

¹⁶ But as it is, they desire a better homeland, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; indeed, he has prepared a city for them.^(A)

¹⁴ Blessed are those who wash their robes,^[a] so that they will have the right to the tree of life and may enter the city by the gates.
