So Joram returned to Jezreel to heal from the wounds he received at Ramoth when he fought Hazael king of Aram.

Ahaziah son of Jehoram and king of Judah went down to visit Joram son of Ahab at Jezreel because he had been ·wounded [sick].

Ahaziah Dies(A)

God caused Ahaziah’s ·death [downfall] when he went to visit Joram. Ahaziah arrived and went out with Joram to ·meet [fight] Jehu son of Nimshi, whom the Lord had ·appointed [L anointed] to destroy Ahab’s ·family [L house]. While Jehu was ·punishing [executing judgment against] Ahab’s ·family [L house], he found the ·leaders [officials] of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah’s ·relatives [brothers] who served Ahaziah, and Jehu killed them all [2 Kin. 10:12–14].

so he returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds they had inflicted on him at Ramoth[a] in his battle with Hazael(A) king of Aram.

Then Ahaziah[b] son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to Jezreel to see Joram son of Ahab because he had been wounded.

Through Ahaziah’s(B) visit to Joram, God brought about Ahaziah’s downfall. When Ahaziah arrived, he went out with Joram to meet Jehu son of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab. While Jehu was executing judgment on the house of Ahab,(C) he found the officials of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah’s relatives, who had been attending Ahaziah, and he killed them.
