⁸⁵ The number of those who fell by the sword, together with those who were burned to death, totaled about eight thousand men. ⁸⁶ Then Jonathan left there and encamped outside Ashkelon, and the people of that city came out to meet him with great pomp. ⁸⁷ He and his men then returned to Jerusalem laden with a great deal of booty.
