³ And the Lord said to him, “^(A)I have heard your prayer and your plea which you have offered before Me; I have consecrated this house which you have built, ^(B)by putting My name there forever, and ^(C)My eyes and My heart will be there ^[a]always. ⁴ As for you, ^(D)if you walk before Me as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and honesty, acting in accordance with everything that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My ordinances, ⁵ then ^(E)I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, just as I ^[b]promised to your father David, saying, ‘^[c]You shall not be deprived of a man on the throne of Israel.’

¹⁶ For ^(A)now I have chosen and consecrated this house so that My name may be there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there ^[a]always.

^4 (A)He built altars in the house of the Lord of which the Lord had said, “My name shall be ^(B)in Jerusalem forever.”
