17 आसा क जगह पइ यहोसापात यहूदा क नवा राजा भवा। यहोसापात आसा क पूत रहा। यहोसापात यहूदा क सक्तीसाली बनाएस जेहसे उ पचे इस्राएल क खिलाफ लड़ सकत रहेन। 2 उ फउजे क टुकड़ियन क यहूदा सबहिं किलाबन्द नगरन मँ रखेस। यहोसापात फउजे क टुकड़ियन क यहूदा अउ एप्रैम क ओन नगरन मँ राखेस जेनका ओकर बाप आसा अपने अधिकार मँ किहे रहेन।
3 यहोवा यहोसापात क संग रहा काहेकि पहिले क बरिसन मँ उ उ सबइ नीक काम किहेस जेनका ओकर पुरखा दाऊद किहे रहा। यहोसापात बाल क मूरतियन क अनुसरण नाहीं किहस। 4 यहोसापात उ परमेस्सर क हेरेस जेकर अनुसरण ओकरे पुरखन करत रहेन। उ परमेस्सर क आदेसन क पालन किहेस। उ उ तरह नाहीं रहा जइसा इस्राएल क दूसर लोग रहत रहेन। 5 यहोवा यहोसापात क यहूदा क सक्तीसाली राजा बनाएस। यहूदा क सबहिं लोग यहोसापात क भेट लिआएन। इ तरह यहोसापात क लगे बहोत स सम्पत्ति अउ सम्मान दुइनउँ रहेन। 6 यहोसापात यहोवा क मारग पइ चलेस अउ ओका ओन पइ गर्व रहा। उ ऊँच जगहियन अउ असेरा क खम्भन क यहूदा देस स बाहेर किहस।
7 यहोसापात अपने प्रमुखन क यहूदा क नगरन मँ सिच्छा देइ क बरे पठएस। इ यहोसापात क राज्जकाल क तीसरे बरिस भवा। उ पचे बेन्हैल, ओबद्याह, जकर्याह, नतनेल अउर मीकायाह रहेन। 8 उ लेवीबंसी क ओनकर संग पठइ दिहेस। उ सबइ समाया, नतन्याह, असाहेल, समीरामोत, यहोनातान, अदोनिय्याह अउर तोबियाह रहेन। यहोसापात याजक एलीसामा अउर यहोराम रहेन। 9 ओन प्रमुखन, लेवीबंसियन अउ याजकन यहूदा मँ लोगन क सिच्छा दिहन। ओनके लगे, यहोवा क नेमन क किताब रही। उ पचे यहूदा क सबहिं नगरन मँ गएन अउर लोगन क उ पचे सिच्छा दिहन।
10 यहूदा क आस-पास क रास्ट्रन यहोवा स डेरात रहेन। इहइ कारण रहा कि उ पचे यहोसापात क खिलाफ जुद्ध नाहीं छेड़ेन। 11 कछू पलिस्ती लोग यहोसापात क लगे भेंट लिआएन। उ पचे यहोसापात क लगे चाँदी लिआएन काहेकि उ पचे जानत रहेन कि उ बहोत सक्तीसाली राजा अहइ। कछू अरब क लोग यहोसापात क लगे रेवड़न लिआएन। उ पचे ओकरे लगे सात हजार सात सौ भेड़िन अउर सात हजार सात सौ बोकरियन लिआएन।
12 यहोसापात जियादा स जियादा सक्तीसाली होत गवा। उ यहूदा देस मँ किलन अउर मज़बूत नगर बनाएन। 13 यहोसापात क लगे बहोत स कलाकार अउर मजदूर रहेन जउन ओकरे बरे ओन नगरन मँ काम करत रहेन। उ यरूसलेम मँ प्रसिच्छित सैनिक रखेन। 14 ओन फउजियन क अपने परिवार समूह मँ गनती रही। यरूसलेम क ओन फउजियन क सूची इ अहइ:
यहूदा क परिवार समूह स इ सेनाध्यच्छ रहेन:
अदना तीन लाख फउजियन क सेनाध्यच्छ रहा।
15 यहोनानान दुइ लाख अस्सी हजार फउजियन क सेनाध्यच्छ रहा।
16 अमस्याह दुइ लाख फउजियन क सेनाध्यच्छ रहा। अमस्याह जिक्री क पूत रहा। अमास्याह अपने क यहोवा क सेवा मँ अर्पित करइ मँ खुस रहा।
17 बिन्यामीन क परिवार समूह स इ सेनाध्यच्छ रहेन: एल्यादा क लगे दुइ लाख फउजी रहेन जउन धनुस, बाण अउर ढाल क उपयोग करत रहेन।
एल्यादा एक साहसी फउजी रहा।
18 यहोनाबाद क लगे एक लाख अस्सी हजार मनई जुद्ध बरे तइयार रहेन।
19 उ सबइ सबहिं फउजी यहोसापात क सेवा करत रहेन। राजा पूरे यहूदा देस क किलन मँ दूसर मनइयन क भी रखे रहा।

Jehoshaphat King of Judah
17 Jehoshaphat his son succeeded him as king and strengthened(A) himself against Israel. 2 He stationed troops in all the fortified cities(B) of Judah and put garrisons in Judah and in the towns of Ephraim that his father Asa had captured.(C)
3 The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the ways of his father David(D) before him. He did not consult the Baals 4 but sought(E) the God of his father and followed his commands rather than the practices of Israel. 5 The Lord established the kingdom under his control; and all Judah brought gifts(F) to Jehoshaphat, so that he had great wealth and honor.(G) 6 His heart was devoted(H) to the ways of the Lord; furthermore, he removed the high places(I) and the Asherah poles(J) from Judah.(K)
7 In the third year of his reign he sent his officials Ben-Hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel and Micaiah to teach(L) in the towns of Judah. 8 With them were certain Levites(M)—Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah and Tob-Adonijah—and the priests Elishama and Jehoram. 9 They taught throughout Judah, taking with them the Book of the Law(N) of the Lord; they went around to all the towns of Judah and taught the people.
10 The fear(O) of the Lord fell on all the kingdoms of the lands surrounding Judah, so that they did not go to war against Jehoshaphat. 11 Some Philistines brought Jehoshaphat gifts and silver as tribute, and the Arabs(P) brought him flocks:(Q) seven thousand seven hundred rams and seven thousand seven hundred goats.
12 Jehoshaphat became more and more powerful; he built forts and store cities in Judah 13 and had large supplies in the towns of Judah. He also kept experienced fighting men in Jerusalem. 14 Their enrollment(R) by families was as follows:
From Judah, commanders of units of 1,000:
Adnah the commander, with 300,000 fighting men;
15 next, Jehohanan the commander, with 280,000;
16 next, Amasiah son of Zikri, who volunteered(S) himself for the service of the Lord, with 200,000.
17 From Benjamin:(T)
Eliada, a valiant soldier, with 200,000 men armed with bows and shields;
18 next, Jehozabad, with 180,000 men armed for battle.
19 These were the men who served the king, besides those he stationed in the fortified cities(U) throughout Judah.(V)
