اسور ایک دیودار کے درخت کی طرح ہے
31 جلاوطنی کے گیارہویں برس کے تیسرے مہینے (جون ) کی پہلی تاریخ کو خدا وند کا کلام مجھے ملا۔ اس نے کہا، 2 “اے ابن آدم! شاہ مصر، فرعون اور اسکے لوگوں سے یہ کہو:
“تمہاری بزرگی میں
کون تمہاری مانند ہے۔
3 اسور لبنان میں دلکش شاخوں والا دیودار کا درخت تھا۔
یہ بہت لمبا اور اوپر چوٹی میں گھنی شاخیں تھیں
جو کہ جنگل کو سایہ دیتا تھا۔
4 پانی درخت کو بڑھا تا ہے۔
گہری ندی اسے اونچا بڑھا تی ہے۔
ندی اس جگہ کے چاروں طرف سے بہتی تھی
جہاں پر درخت تھا۔
یہ دوسرے درختوں کی طرف دھارا کو بھیجا۔
5 اس لئے کھیت کے سبھی درختوں سے وہ درخت بلند تھا،
اور اس نے کئی ڈالیاں پھیلا رکھی تھیں۔
وہاں کافی پانی تھا۔
اس لئے درخت کی شاخیں باہر پھیلی تھیں۔
6 اس درخت کی شاخوں میں آسمان کے سبھی پرندوں نے گھونسلے بنائے تھے۔
اس درخت کی شاخوں کے نیچے سبھی جانور اپنے بچوں کو جنم دیتے تھے۔
سبھی بڑی قومیں
اس درخت کے سایہ میں رہتی تھیں۔
7 اس لئے درخت اپنی بر تری اور اپنی لمبی شاخوں کی وجہ سے خوبصورت تھا
کیوں کہ اس کی جڑیں گہرے پانی تک پہنچتی تھیں۔
8 خدا کے باغ کے دیودار کا درخت بھی اتنا بڑا نہیں تھا
جتنا کہ یہ درخت تھا۔
سرو کے درخت بھی اتنی زیادہ ڈالیاں نہیں رکھتے
اور نہ ہی چنار کے درخت میں اس درخت جیسی ڈالیاں تھی۔
خدا کے باغ کا کوئی بھی درخت اتنا خوبصورت نہیں تھا
جتنا یہ درخت تھا۔”
9 میں نے کئی ڈالیاں سمیت اس درخت کو خوبصورت بنا یا
اور خدا کے باغ کے سبھی درخت اس سے رشک کرتے تھے
10 اس لئے خدا وند میرا مالک کہتا ہے: “درخت بلند ہو گیا ہے۔ اس نے اپنی چوٹی کو بادلوں میں پہنچا دیا ہے۔ درخت متکبر ہو گیا کیوں کہ یہ قد آور ہے۔ 11 اس لئے میں نے ایک طاقتور بادشاہ کو اس درخت کو لینے دیا۔ اس حکمراں نے درخت کو اس برے اعمال کے سبب سزا دی۔ میں نے اس درخت کو اپنے باغ سے باہر کیا۔ 12 “اجنبی جو دنیا کی سب سے خطرناک قوم ہیں اس درخت کو کاٹ ڈالا اور اسکی شاخوں کو پہاڑوں پر ساری وادی میں بکھیر دیئے۔ اس روئے زمین میں بہنے والی ندیوں میں اس کی شاخیں بہہ گئیں۔ درخت کے نیچے اب کوئی سایہ نہیں تھا۔ اس لئے سبھی لوگوں نے اس درخت کو چھوڑ دیا۔ 13 اب اس گرے درخت پر پرندے رہتے ہیں اور اسکی ٹوٹی شاخوں پر جنگلی جانور چلتے ہیں۔
14 “اب اس پانی کا کوئی بھی درخت متکبر نہیں ہوگا۔ وہ بادلوں تک پہنچنا نہیں چاہیں گے۔ کوئی بھی طاقتور درخت جو اس پانی کو پیتا ہے قد آور ہونے کی شیخی نہیں بگھا رے گا کیوں کہ ان سبھی کی موت یقینی ہو چکی ہے۔ وہ سبھی موت کے مقام پاتال میں چلے جائیں گے۔ وہ ان دیگر انسانوں کی طرح ہونگے جو مرتے ہیں اور گڑھے میں چلے جا تے ہیں۔”
15 خدا وند میرا مالک یہ کہتا ہے، “اس دن جب وہ درخت اسفل کو گیا میں نے لوگوں سے ماتم کروایا۔ میں نے گہرے پانی کو، اس کے لئے غم سے چھپا دیا۔ میں نے درخت کی ندیوں کو روک دیا۔ اور درخت کے لئے پانی کا بہنا رک گیا۔ میں نے لبنان کو اس کے لئے ماتم کروایا۔ کھیت کے سبھی درخت اس بڑے درخت کے غم میں بیمار ہوگئے۔ 16 میں نے درخت کو گرایا اور درخت کے گرنے کی آواز سے قو میں کانپ اٹھیں۔ میں نے درخت کو موت کے مقام اسفل پر پہنچا یا۔ یہ نیچے ان لوگوں کے ساتھ رہنے گیا جو گڑھے میں نیچے گرے ہوئے تھے۔ ماضی میں عدن کے سبھی درخت یعنی لبنان کے بہترین درخت اس پانی کو پیتے تھے۔ ان سبھی درختوں نے پاتال میں تسکین حاصل کی تھی۔ 17 ہاں! وہ درخت بھی قد آور درخت کے ساتھ موت کے مقام اسفل پر گئے۔ انہوں نے ان لوگوں کا ساتھ پکڑا جو جنگ میں مارے گئے تھے۔ اس بڑے درخت نے دیگر درختوں کو طاقتور بنا یا، وہ درخت قوموں کے درمیان اس بڑے درخت کے سایہ میں رہتے تھے۔
18 “اس لئے اے مصر! عدن میں بہت سے قد آور اور طاقتور درخت ہیں۔ ان میں سے کسی درخت کے ساتھ میں تمہارا موازنہ کروں گا۔ تم عدن کے درختوں کے ساتھ پاتال کو جاؤ گے۔ موت کے مقام میں تم ان غیر ملکیوں اور جنگ میں مارے گئے لوگوں کے ساتھ لیٹو گے۔ ”
ہاں، یہ فرعون اور اسکے سبھی لوگوں کے ساتھ ہوگا۔ خدا وند میرے مالک نے یہ کہا تھا۔

Pharaoh as a Felled Cedar of Lebanon
31 In the eleventh year,(A) in the third month on the first day, the word of the Lord came to me:(B) 2 “Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his hordes:
“‘Who can be compared with you in majesty?
3 Consider Assyria,(C) once a cedar in Lebanon,(D)
with beautiful branches overshadowing the forest;
it towered on high,
its top above the thick foliage.(E)
4 The waters(F) nourished it,
deep springs made it grow tall;
their streams flowed
all around its base
and sent their channels
to all the trees of the field.(G)
5 So it towered higher(H)
than all the trees of the field;
its boughs increased
and its branches grew long,
spreading because of abundant waters.(I)
6 All the birds of the sky
nested in its boughs,
all the animals of the wild
gave birth(J) under its branches;
all the great nations
lived in its shade.(K)
7 It was majestic in beauty,
with its spreading boughs,
for its roots went down
to abundant waters.(L)
8 The cedars(M) in the garden of God
could not rival it,
nor could the junipers
equal its boughs,
nor could the plane trees(N)
compare with its branches—
no tree in the garden of God
could match its beauty.(O)
9 I made it beautiful
with abundant branches,
the envy of all the trees of Eden(P)
in the garden of God.(Q)
10 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because the great cedar towered over the thick foliage, and because it was proud(R) of its height, 11 I gave it into the hands of the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with according to its wickedness. I cast it aside,(S) 12 and the most ruthless of foreign nations(T) cut it down and left it. Its boughs fell on the mountains and in all the valleys;(U) its branches lay broken in all the ravines of the land. All the nations of the earth came out from under its shade and left it.(V) 13 All the birds settled on the fallen tree, and all the wild animals lived among its branches.(W) 14 Therefore no other trees by the waters are ever to tower proudly on high, lifting their tops above the thick foliage. No other trees so well-watered are ever to reach such a height; they are all destined(X) for death,(Y) for the earth below, among mortals who go down to the realm of the dead.(Z)
15 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On the day it was brought down to the realm of the dead I covered the deep springs with mourning for it; I held back its streams, and its abundant waters were restrained. Because of it I clothed Lebanon with gloom, and all the trees of the field withered away.(AA) 16 I made the nations tremble(AB) at the sound of its fall when I brought it down to the realm of the dead to be with those who go down to the pit. Then all the trees(AC) of Eden,(AD) the choicest and best of Lebanon, the well-watered trees, were consoled(AE) in the earth below.(AF) 17 They too, like the great cedar, had gone down to the realm of the dead, to those killed by the sword,(AG) along with the armed men who lived in its shade among the nations.
18 “‘Which of the trees of Eden can be compared with you in splendor and majesty? Yet you, too, will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the earth below; you will lie among the uncircumcised,(AH) with those killed by the sword.
“‘This is Pharaoh and all his hordes, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”
