  104. Those who conducted Paul brought him as far as Athens, and after receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him as soon as possible, they departed.

  106. And when he wished to cross to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples to welcome him. When he arrived, he greatly helped those who through grace had believed,
  107. Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.”
  108. Also many of those who were now believers came, confessing and divulging their practices.

  119. Those who stood by said, “Would you revile God's high priest?”
  120. At midday, O king, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, that shone around me and those who journeyed with me.
  121. to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
  122. Then the king rose, and the governor and Bernice and those who were sitting with them.
  123. and he said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar. And behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’
  124. But the centurion, wishing to save Paul, kept them from carrying out their plan. He ordered those who could swim to jump overboard first and make for the land,
  125. Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
  126. We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things.
  127. Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?
  128. to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;
  129. but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.
  130. and if you are sure that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,
  131. Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.
  132. For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
  133. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.
  134. Released from the Law

Or do you not know, brothers—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives?
  135. Life in the Spirit

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
  136. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
  137. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
  138. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
  139. As indeed he says in Hosea, “Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’ and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved.’”
  140. And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
  141. But I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, “I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry.”
  142. Then Isaiah is so bold as to say, “I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.”
  143. Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.
  144. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
  145. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
  146. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.
  147. For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.”
  148. but as it is written, “Those who have never been told of him will see, and those who have never heard will understand.”
  149. Greet Apelles, who is approved in Christ. Greet those who belong to the family of Aristobulus.
  150. Final Instructions and Greetings

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.
  151. To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:
  152. Christ the Wisdom and Power of God

For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
  153. For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.
  154. but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
  155. But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—
  156. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.
  157. So if you have such cases, why do you lay them before those who have no standing in the church?
  158. But if you do marry, you have not sinned, and if a betrothed woman marries, she has not sinned. Yet those who marry will have worldly troubles, and I would spare you that.
  159. This is what I mean, brothers: the appointed time has grown very short. From now on, let those who have wives live as though they had none,
  160. and those who mourn as though they were not mourning, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing, and those who buy as though they had no goods,
  161. and those who deal with the world as though they had no dealings with it. For the present form of this world is passing away.
  162. This is my defense to those who would examine me.
  163. Do you not know that those who are employed in the temple service get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in the sacrificial offerings?
  164. In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.
  165. Consider the people of Israel: are not those who eat the sacrifices participants in the altar?
  166. for there must be factions among you in order that those who are genuine among you may be recognized.
  167. What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I commend you in this? No, I will not.
  168. But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
  169. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.
  170. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.
  171. who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
  172. And I wrote as I did, so that when I came I might not suffer pain from those who should have made me rejoice, for I felt sure of all of you, that my joy would be the joy of you all.
  173. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,
  174. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.
  175. We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart.
  176. and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
  177. Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.
  178. And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do.
  179. I fear that when I come again my God may humble me before you, and I may have to mourn over many of those who sinned earlier and have not repented of the impurity, sexual immorality, and sensuality that they have practiced.
  180. I warned those who sinned before and all the others, and I warn them now while absent, as I did when present on my second visit, that if I come again I will not spare them—
  181. nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.
  182. I went up because of a revelation and set before them (though privately before those who seemed influential) the gospel that I proclaim among the Gentiles, in order to make sure I was not running or had not run in vain.
  183. And from those who seemed to be influential (what they were makes no difference to me; God shows no partiality)—those, I say, who seemed influential added nothing to me.
  184. So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
  185. But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
  186. to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.
  187. I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves!
  188. envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
  189. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
  190. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
  191. It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh who would force you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
  192. For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
  193. And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.
  194. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
  195. Look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh.
  196. Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us.
  197. Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.
  198. The Coming of the Lord

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.
  199. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
  200. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
  201. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night.
  202. Final Instructions and Benediction

We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,
  203. since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you,
  204. in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
  205. and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
  206. understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers,
  207. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.
  208. For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.
  209. who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
  210. For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.
  211. If any believing woman has relatives who are widows, let her care for them. Let the church not be burdened, so that it may care for those who are truly widows.
  212. Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching.
  213. As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.
  214. Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved.

    False Teachers and True Contentment

    Teach and urge these things.
  215. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
  216. But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”
  217. So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
  218. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions,
  219. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.
  220. The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.
  221. All who are with me send greetings to you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.
  222. Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
  223. how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard,
  224. For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
  225. and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.
  226. For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
  227. For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses?
  228. And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?
  229. And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient?
  230. For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.
  231. Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience,
  232. But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
  233. For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit,
  234. so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
  235. And it was not without an oath. For those who formerly became priests were made such without an oath,
  236. Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
  237. Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
  238. so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
  239. Christ's Sacrifice Once for All

For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near.
  240. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
  241. But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
  242. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
  243. By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.
  244. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
  245. Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.
  246. Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
  247. We have an altar from which those who serve the tent have no right to eat.
  248. Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
  249. Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who come from Italy send you greetings.
  250. Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
  251. Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?
  252. So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty.
  253. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
  254. Greeting

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
  255. It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.
  256. So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”
  257. or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good.
  258. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
  259. having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
  260. For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does.
  261. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
  262. Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.
  263. Greeting

Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
  264. and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority. Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones,
  265. For, speaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely escaping from those who live in error.
  266. I write these things to you about those who are trying to deceive you.
  267. If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that.
  268. For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist.
  269. So if I come, I will bring up what he is doing, talking wicked nonsense against us. And not content with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers, and also stops those who want to and puts them out of the church.
  270. Greeting

Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, To those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ:
  271. Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
  272. And have mercy on those who doubt;
  273. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.
  274. Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.
  275. “‘I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.
  276. “‘I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich) and the slander of those who say that they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
  277. Behold, I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works,
  278. Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.
  279. When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne.
  280. They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”
  281. Then I looked, and I heard an eagle crying with a loud voice as it flew directly overhead, “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, at the blasts of the other trumpets that the three angels are about to blow!”
  282. And this is how I saw the horses in my vision and those who rode them: they wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphire and of sulfur, and the heads of the horses were like lions' heads, and fire and smoke and sulfur came out of their mouths.
  283. The Two Witnesses

Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told, “Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there,
  284. and those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and make merry and exchange presents, because these two prophets had been a torment to those who dwell on the earth.
  285. But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood up on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them.
  286. The nations raged, but your wrath came, and the time for the dead to be judged, and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear your name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth.”
  287. Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And he stood on the sand of the sea.
  288. It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven.
  289. and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived.
  290. And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.
  291. The Messages of the Three Angels

Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people.
  292. Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.
  293. And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands.
  294. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”
  295. And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.
  296. Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
  297. But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.
  298. but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”
  299. Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.
