The Plan
Prophecy Thread of Week 42
Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary Definition of Truth:
Conformity to fact or reality; exact accordance with that which is, or has been, or shall be. The truth of history constitutes its whole value. We rely on the truth of the scriptural prophecies.
MESSIAH TOOK AWAY OUR GRIEF AND SICKNESS
This prophecy is so clear it was quoted by Peter in his first epistle. Jesus not only took away the punishment of death for our sins, He took away our sicknesses so that when we receive it by faith it manifests. We have three witnesses of this truth: Isaiah, Matthew and Peter.
PROMISED
MESSIAH THE SIN BEARER
Isa 53:4a Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering,
Isa 53:5b …the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
FULFILLED
JESUS HEALS MANY
Mat 8:17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”
CHRIST FLOGGED
1Pe 2:24b “by his wounds you have been healed.” **
