God’s Theme Music
Davin’s dad backed the minivan into a spot at the drive-in theater. Opening the hatch, Davin unloaded folding chairs for his parents. Then he and his sister, Carrie, spread out sleeping bags in the back of the van. Their mom went to the concession stand. She returned just as Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back was starting. They all settled in to watch.
A huge spaceship glided across the screen. Dark, threatening music began playing.
“You hear that music every time Darth Vader shows up,” Davin said. His father nodded. “Yeah. It has to be the greatest theme music ever made for a movie villain. That music really conveys how evil he is!”
Have you ever wondered what theme music for God would sound like? He’s so good that it’s impossible for one piece of music to describe him. Maybe that’s why so many different kinds of praise and worship songs have been written for God. Memorize some songs that remind you of all the good things about God. Sing them to praise and worship him. That’ll remind you how great and awesome he is!
Bible Verse: It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High. – Psalm 92:1
Live It!: Pick one of God’s good qualities. Then make up a melody to express it. Use any musical instrument you have at home. Be creative! Add some words and use your song to praise God.
