Adventure Bible Family Devotions
During the class trip to a pizzeria, Raymond was tossing dough to make a crust. “That’s good!” said the restaurant owner. Taking the dough, he placed it on the counter. “Now we add the sauce.” He ladled spicy tomato sauce over the dough. “Next, some mozzarella.” Grabbing a grater, he piled on shredded cheese. “Finally, the toppings.” He chopped up green peppers, onions, olives, and mushrooms. Then he sliced thin circles of pepperoni and arranged everything on the pizza. “Now it’s ready to bake!” Slipping a wooden paddle under the pizza, he slid it into a hot brick oven.
Raymond’s teacher said, “Okay, class. Who can name the food groups on our pizza?”
A girl raised her hand. “Bread, dairy, vegetables, and meat.” “That’s right, Joanna,” said the teacher. As the pizza baked, Raymond grinned. “Mmm. Smells like good nutrition to me!”
Healthy food is important for your body. In the same way, God’s words are vital for your soul. Feed your body good food daily. And be sure to read your Bible and listen to God’s voice, so your spirit will be well fed too.
